ADOPT CORE TRAINING

Registration only for Official Project 1.27 Families.

Adopt Core (ACORE) training meets the core competencies outlined in the Colorado Department of Human Services Child Welfare Practice Handbook. ACORE is taught by competent instructors in a church setting from a Christian perspective. The class covers the following:

  • The Placement Process
  • Administrative and Legal Issues
  • Parenting and Family Issues
  • Child Maltreatment
  • Key Concepts of Growth and Development
  • Individual Differences-Ethnicity and Culture
  • Discipline
  • The Importance of Creating a Team Approach
  • Working with the Biological Family
  • Effects of being in a Foster or Adoptive Family
