Electives
Project 1.27 offers additional classes, as possible:
- CPR/First Aid-Meets Colorado Child Care Licensing requirements.
- Fingerprinting: performed by volunteers during training weekends, as available
- “Discipline: An Attachment Perspective”-This class looks at disciplining children who have been traumatized and/or have attachment issues before being placed in your home.
- “Adoption Transitions”-Success in your adoption will come partly by asking the right questions, having the right expectations and having the right information.
- “Why Does My Child Behave This Way?-This class will provide an overview of these sensory processing systems and their impact on functioning. We will discuss ways to address underlying sensory issues to help improve behavioral self-regulation.
- “Promoting Placement Stability”-Using home visits to prevent foster care and adoption disruptions.
- “Helping Children Cope”-How foster and adoptive parents can reduce trauma during placement moves.
